Richard Nolan, PE

Rich is a licensed professional engineer with 21 years engineering experience. He holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Engineering from RPI and was employed by Knolls Atomic Power Lab for 8 years before starting Nolan Engineering.  He has 2 children.  In 2022 Rich launched Nolan Structural Products, which is a sister-company to Nolan Engineering that focuses on designing, manufacturing and distributing structural repair products.

Chief Financial Officer and Director of Operations

Jocelyn Mosher, MBA, CIME

Jocelyn holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance in addition to her Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Russell Sage Colleges. She is also a licensed Notary Public and Certified Inventory Management Expert (CIME). When she isn't working or managing rental properties, she is spending time with her daughters and animals or working in the garden.

Engineering Project Manager

Brian Choi, PE

Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from University of California San Diego. Prior to joining the Nolan Engineering team, Brian worked for The Consulting Engineers Group in Murrieta, California where he designed structural pre-stressed concrete for commercial construction. Outside of work, he enjoys spending his time outdoors, from snowboarding to rock-climbing.

Kevin Pultorak, RA

Kevin joined the Nolan Engineering team in June 2024 and is a Registered Architect who focuses mainly on large commercial projects.

Senior Forensic Inspector

John Furlong

John has over thirty years in the property insurance industry utilizing his unique background experience in various aspects of the property failure analysis and construction/restoration industries within the insurance community. John’s experience can be utilized for structural investigations and failure determinations. John can recommend proper repair procedures for losses and prepare damage or competitive estimates. In addition, he is frequently asked to be a party in the appraisal process as identified in an insurance policy.
John received his degree in Civil Engineering and is continuing to pursue his Professional Engineering designation. He is also a member of the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department.

Associate Engineer

Nick Hart, EIT

Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University. Prior to joining the Nolan Engineering team, Nick worked for Guth DeConzo Consulting Engineers in Troy, NY where he designed commercial HVAC systems for hospitals, universities and schools. Nick has worked in construction with his family for most of his life, ranging from residential construction to commercial concrete. Nick currently holds an EIT certification and plans to obtain his professional engineering license in the near future. Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and dog, hiking or kayaking and playing ice hockey.

Associate Engineer/Civil Engineer

Collin Parsons

Collin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University. He joined the Nolan Engineering team shortly after graduating in 2020. As part of the team, his project list includes soil testing, septic systems, recreational water facilities, foundation and structural design, and structural product design and testing. Prior to joining the Nolan Engineering team, he worked as an intern in the design group for the New York State Department of Transportation. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and kayaking.

Senior Project Designer

Steven Alheim

Steven, after 4 years of active duty in the Army, settled in the Pacific Northwest to start a family and attend school, getting his AAS in Drafting and Design Technology while continuing his Army career in the Reserves. His early experience involved design and installation of fire sprinkler systems in Portland, Oregon and upon moving back to New York in 1998, he began drafting for local firms specializing in commercial projects. Realizing his desire to do more residential projects, he worked for Lincoln
Logs in Chestertown, NY until its demise in 2008 and then briefly as proprietor of White Birch Designs. Before coming to Nolan Engineering, he worked as the drafting manager and lead designer for Eric & Eric, a design/build firm in Brant Lake, for 9 years and served on a local planning board for 6 years. Fusing affordable, aesthetic, and structurally sound designs drives Steven to constantly learn and improve all aspects of his work, and partnering with clients to achieve their goals creates a professional yet friendly dynamic that can make it stress-free and enjoyable, from ideas to
reality.  With over 200 homes designed and countless additions and remodels, his experience is invaluable to the team, clients, and builders alike. Outside of work, Steven and his wife enjoy multi-day backpacking trips, hiking, winter activities, and traveling on a budget. Steven is currently working on his Winter Adirondack 46er patch!

Joe Candida

Joe holds as AAS degree in Drafting and Design Technology with over 25 years experience in architectural design. His project list includes Design and Construction Documents for Residential Homes, Retail Stores, Apartment and Senior Living Complexes, Health Care Facilities, Banks and Fire Stations.  Joe was born and raised in the Capital Region and resides in Glenville with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, Joe enjoys wood working and spending time with his family.

Ember DeMio

Ember is a graduate of the RPI School of Architecture and a recipient of the Peck Prize for her thesis. With five years of experience on projects nationwide, her passion for architecture began with home-improvement projects in New Hampshire and grew through a high school drafting program. She now lives in Albany with her partner and their cat, Gateway, and enjoys hiking, photography, and painting.

Terry Broiles

Terrel holds an associate degree in fine art from the Junior College of Albany. After working three years in the construction field, in 1985 he joined a land surveying firm as a manual drafter. Throughout the last 38 years he has worked as a designer/drafter in several related disciplines including: residential, commercial & industrial architecture, civil engineering, land surveying & subdivision design, AEC textbook illustration, as well as 3D & photo rendering. In his spare time, he enjoys painting & studying art. He has been married 40 years and has three daughters.

Marley Starks

Marley holds a Mechanical Technology (AAS) Degree with over 10 years of experience working in some form of the construction trade. She has worked on drawings from predesign to as-builts for Fire Sprinkler Suppression Systems, Security Gate Systems, Residential Homes & Additions, Commercial Buildings such as Hospitals, Apartment Buildings, Manufacturing Facilities (John Deere & Caterpillar while living in Iowa), Complex HVAC Systems Fabrication Drawings, Smaller Client Existing Commercial
Fit-ups, Custom Kitchens & Wood Built-Ins for residential clients. Marley intends on returning to complete her bachelor’s in engineering soon. During Marley’s time away from the office she enjoys spending time with her family! She enjoys tricking out her truck & spending time outdoors in the beautiful nature we get to call home in upstate NY!

Scott Kazmierczak

Scott holds an Architectural Technology (AAS) degree with over 12+ years of experience in the industry working with both engineering and architecture firms forming a solid understanding of both disciplines and their interactions with one another. He has worked on numerous types of projects over the years but has found that his true passion is helping clients with additions and renovations to their existing residential properties or helping them design new ones. Listening to their desires and needs, he can provide guidance through the sometimes-overwhelming process offering suggestions on how to avoid unnecessary complications often translating into cost savings and expediency of the project while still maintaining the desired outcome, helping them to find a result they are truly happy with. During his time off he enjoys spending time with his wife and chocolate lab, hanging out on the deck or in the greenhouse listening to music, gardening, hiking, cruising in the classic car, home renovations, and dreaming of the Florida Keys.

Quality Control Engineer

Tom Campbell

Tom has degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture.  He worked in many management positions over a 40-year career for a defense contractor supporting the nuclear navy.  His experience includes managing a nuclear submarine prototype power plant; large test facilities; facilities operations and maintenance engineering; quality assurance; and human resources. Tom’s outside interests include sports car racing and he has held leadership positions in several non-profit and volunteer organizations.
