Steven, after 4 years of active duty in the Army, settled in the Pacific Northwest to start a family and attend school, getting his AAS in Drafting and Design Technology while continuing his Army career in the Reserves. His early experience involved design and installation of fire sprinkler systems in Portland, Oregon and upon moving back to New York in 1998, he began drafting for local firms specializing in commercial projects. Realizing his desire to do more residential projects, he worked for Lincoln
Logs in Chestertown, NY until its demise in 2008 and then briefly as proprietor of White Birch Designs. Before coming to Nolan Engineering, he worked as the drafting manager and lead designer for Eric & Eric, a design/build firm in Brant Lake, for 9 years and served on a local planning board for 6 years. Fusing affordable, aesthetic, and structurally sound designs drives Steven to constantly learn and improve all aspects of his work, and partnering with clients to achieve their goals creates a professional yet friendly dynamic that can make it stress-free and enjoyable, from ideas to
reality. With over 200 homes designed and countless additions and remodels, his experience is invaluable to the team, clients, and builders alike. Outside of work, Steven and his wife enjoy multi-day backpacking trips, hiking, winter activities, and traveling on a budget. Steven is currently working on his Winter Adirondack 46er patch!
