Steven, after 4 years of active duty in the Army, settled in the Pacific Northwest to attend school, getting his AAS in Drafting and Design Technology while continuing his Army career in the Reserves. His early experience involved design and installation of fire sprinkler systems, working for Patriot Fire Protection in Portland Oregon. Upon moving to New York in 1998, he began drafting for local firms specializing in commercial projects such as high schools, libraries, and municipal centers. Realizing his desire to do more residential projects, he worked for Lincoln Logs in Chestertown, NY until its demise in 2008 and as proprietor of JGS Drafting in South Glens Falls. Before coming to Nolan Engineering, Steve worked as the drafting manager and lead designer for Eric & Eric, a design/build firm in Brant Lake, for 9 years and served on a local planning board for 6 years.
Outside of work, Steve and his wife enjoy multi-day backpacking trips, hiking, and traveling on a budget.
